Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City → Lak Lake & Buon Ma Thuot (L, D)

Your Central Highlands Vietnam tour begins with a morning flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Buon Ma Thuot. After meeting your local guide, travel through the peaceful highland countryside to Lak Lake, one of the most scenic stops in Vietnam’s Central Highlands.

After checking in at a homestay in Jun Village, enjoy lunch with a local family before exploring the village on foot. Learn about the daily life and traditions of the M’nong community, discover traditional brocade weaving and visit the former elephant training area.

You can also enjoy optional kayaking on Lak Lake before returning to the village for a home-cooked dinner and a relaxing evening surrounded by the quiet atmosphere of the Central Highlands.

Day 2: Lak Lake → Buon Ma Thuot (B, L)

After breakfast, leave Lak Lake and continue deeper into the Central Highlands of Vietnam. Visit King Bao Dai’s former hunting lodge and stop at the historic Broken Bridge on Highway 14 before heading toward two of the region’s most impressive natural attractions.

Explore Dray Sap and Dray Nur Waterfalls, surrounded by lush forest and dramatic highland scenery. Depending on local conditions, you can enjoy a short forest walk or spend time relaxing near the waterfalls before lunch.

In the afternoon, travel back to Buon Ma Thuot, with opportunities to stop for photos along the way. After checking in at your hotel, the evening is free to explore the city, visit a local market or enjoy dinner at your own pace.

Day 3: Buon Ma Thuot → Pleiku via the Ho Chi Minh Trail (B, L)

After breakfast, explore more of Buon Ma Thuot before continuing north toward Pleiku. Visit the local market, a minority Catholic church, a rubber plantation and black pepper gardens for a closer look at everyday life and agriculture in Vietnam’s Central Highlands.

Continue along the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail, stopping at a war memorial, an Ede village and the Death Valley battlefield, an area connected to important fighting during the Vietnam War. The journey offers a mix of wartime history, rural landscapes and local communities away from Vietnam’s busiest tourist routes.

After lunch, continue toward Pleiku and visit Sea Lake, one of the area’s most scenic natural attractions, together with a Sedang village before checking in at your hotel.
