Embark on an unforgettable 4-day adventure through the heart of Vietnam’s Central Highlands, where raw nature, deep-rooted traditions, and rich wartime history come together to create a truly immersive travel experience. This off-the-beaten-path journey takes you from the bustling streets of Ho Chi Minh City to the tranquil countryside of Buôn Ma Thuột and Pleiku—regions known for their ethnic diversity, majestic landscapes, and significant roles during the Vietnam War.
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City → Buon Ma Thuot (L, D)
Your adventure begins with a short flight from Ho Chi Minh City, where we’ll meet you in Buôn Ma Thuột and head straight to the peaceful Lak Lake. After settling into your homestay in Jun Village, we’ll walk together through the village to explore the daily life of the M’nong people. You’ll witness traditional brocade weaving, visit the old elephant training center, and even try kayaking if you like. We’ll end the day with a warm, home-cooked meal and a cozy night in the village.
06:00 – 08:00: Morning flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Buôn Ma Thuột (flight not included; approx. 150 USD per person).
08:30: Arrival and private transfer to Lak Lake.
09:00: Check-in at Jun Village homestay.
12:00: Lunch with your host family.
13:00 – 16:00: Guided walking tour through Jun Village: observe M’nong R’Lum daily life, visit an elephant training center, learn traditional brocade weaving, and watch local fishing on kayaks. Optional kayaking on the lake (self-paid).
18:00: Dinner with a local family meal.
19:30: Overnight stay at a homestay in Buon Me Thuat.
Day 2: Lak Lake → Buon Ma Thuot (B, L)
After breakfast, we’ll take you to visit King Bảo Đại’s former hunting lodge and the wartime Broken Bridge. Then we head to the majestic Dray Sap and Dray Nur waterfalls, where you can relax, trek through the forest, or swim in the nearby fairy lake. Lunch will be served in a natural setting before we drive back to the city. You’ll have the evening free to explore Buôn Ma Thuột or simply unwind.
07:30: Breakfast at the homestay.
08:30 – 09:00: Transfer to visit King Bảo Đại’s hunting lodge.
09:00 – 10:00: Stop at the historic Broken Bridge on Highway 14.
10:30 – 12:00: Explore Dray Sap and Dray Nur waterfalls; optional forest trekking or swimming at the fairy lake.
12:30: Lunch in a natural setting.
14:00 – 16:00: Drive back to Buôn Ma Thuột with scenic photo stops.
16:30: Check-in at your hotel in Buôn Ma Thuột.
Evening: Free time for dinner (on your own) and optional market visit.
Overnight in Buôn Ma Thuột.
Day 3: Buon Ma Thuot → Pleiku (B, L)
We’ll start the day at the local market before taking you to visit a minority Catholic church, a rubber plantation, and black pepper gardens. As we travel north along the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail, we’ll stop at the Death Valley battlefield and explore ethnic villages along the way. After lunch, we continue to Sea Lake and visit a Sedang minority village. By late afternoon, we arrive in Pleiku, where you’ll check in and rest for the night.
07:00: Breakfast at the hotel.
08:00 – 09:30: Walk around Buôn Ma Thuột Central Market, visit a minority Catholic church, and tour a rubber plantation.
09:30 – 11:00: Continue to visit a war memorial, black pepper gardens, and the Ede minority village.
11:00 – 12:30: Travel along the southern Ho Chi Minh Trail toward Pleiku, stopping at the Death Valley battlefield (site of a major 1965 conflict).
12:30: Lunch en route.
14:00 – 16:00: Visit Sea Lake and a Sedang minority village.
16:30: Check-in at your hotel in Pleiku.
Evening: Dinner on your own and overnight in Pleiku.
Note: If road conditions are not ideal, the Sea Lake visit may be moved to Day 4 before your return flight.
Day 4: Pleiku → Ho Chi Minh City (B)
After breakfast, we’ll transfer you to Pleiku Airport for your flight back to Ho Chi Minh City.
