Take a trip on the Saigon River Express, offering you a luxurious tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels with five star service aboard one of our modern and luxurious speedboats. Forget tour buses; this tour will depart from Ho Chi Minh City for a scenic 1.5-hour boat trip to Cu Chi. Upon arrival, a private screening of the official Cu Chi Tunnels video will be shown with commentary and additional information from your English-speaking guide. Learn more about this immense network of underground tunnels that were used by Viet Cong soldiers during the Vietnam War. A traditional Vietnamese lunch or dinner of local specialties like lemongrass chicken and caramelized clay pot pork will be served after your visit to the tunnels. Vegetarian or Halal meals are also available on request.
7:00 am: Early in the morning, our guide will meet you at your hotel’s lobby and bring you by car to our speedboat at Bach Dang pier.
7:20 am: Then you will depart Saigon by speedboat. Within 15 minutes, the banks of the river change from city sprawl to lush jungle. A light breakfast of sandwiches or pastries, fresh tropical fruits and Vietnamese iced coffee (Ca phe sua da) is served, as your guide explains rural traditions and aspects of riverbank life.
8:50 am: You will arrive at the Cu Chi Tunnels site before the majority of larger bus tours arrive. Watch a brief introductory ‘propaganda’ video to the Cu Chi area.
9:00 am: Explore the tunnel site, which includes weapon and booby trap exhibitions, navigating authentic Viet Cong tunnel, visiting different underground bunkers (kitchens, meeting rooms, ammunitions etc.), a firing range and much more. Try the local cassava root that sustained Viet Cong fighters for years.
11:00 am: Enjoy a delicious traditional Vietnamese lunch by the river, consisting of authentic fried spring rolls, chicken and beef dishes and soup.
11:30 am: Say goodbye to Cu Chi Tunnel and return to Ho Chi Minh City.
01:00 pm: Arrive back at Bach Dang’s pier. Our driver will take you back to your hotel by car.

5. How much walking is involved at the tunnel site? Expect a very light and easy walk. The total walking distance around the historical site is only about 600 to 700 meters. The paths are well-shaded by the jungle canopy, and there are plenty of rest stops along the way for you to relax.
6. Do we visit the Ben Dinh or Ben Duoc tunnels? Our standard speedboat itinerary explores the popular Ben Dinh Tunnels. However, if you are booking a Private Tour and wish to visit the Ben Duoc Tunnels instead, simply let us know! We would be happy to customize the route for you.
7. Is the shooting range included, and how much does it cost? The shooting range is an optional, hands-on activity and is not included in the tour price. Guests can purchase real bullets on-site for approximately 50,000 VND (about $2 USD) per bullet. You will have around 15-20 minutes to experience firing historical weapons.
8. Can you accommodate specific dietary requirements? Yes, we certainly can! Whether you need delicious vegetarian or vegan options, or have specific food allergies, just let us know in your booking notes.
